When you do a certain OTHER series of inputs, Mario will daydream about spaghetti. When you do a certain series of inputs on your N64 controller, Mario will clip through the cage. There does not exist a version of Super Mario 64 where you aren't able to use a Bob-Omb to clip into Chain Chomp's cage. There does not exist a version of Ocarina of Time where you can't get Link to slide backwards really fast. You literally can't compete on a different landscape if you wanted to. And since all that a game IS is how it's programmed to respond to inputs on the controller, THAT is the landscape speedrunners compete on. Speedrunning is not about what the game looks like initially to a casual observer. It's just that the devs forgot to disallow it during this one fight.Īnd this is not some secret technique that only evil exploiters know about - literally every single person who is competing against each other in Pokémon gen 1 speedruns knows about the Poké Doll trick versus Marowak Ghost. #OLLIOLLI 2 CHEAT ENGINE CODE#This isn't glitchy behaviour - the game is running the Poké Doll code as normal. This means you can skip the entire Rocket Game Corner area if you just use a Poké Doll. The developers forgot to put in an exception for the Marowak Ghost, which you can't normally pass without the Silph Scope. In Pokémon Gen 1, the Poké Doll is an item you can buy to allow you to always successfully leave a fight. You need to remember that all of a game's regular game behaviour is caused by the exact same lines of coding that causes glitches. And it's usually not random as to whether a wall is solid or not - the layout of the scenery doesn't randomise itself when you load the level.unless you're playing a game like Minecraft where everything is randomly made. It doesn't matter whether people argue that you should avoid using this knowledge to gain an advantage - the truth of the matter is that the game DOES allow the character to go through that particualr wall. The game doesn't care that it looks like you shouldn't be able to go through - as far as the game knows, it's just a regular old empty space. Something such as clipping through walls is a great example: If there is a tiny gap in the placement of wall collision that the developers didn't notice, it may be possible to go through the walls at certain places. The only distinction is in the minds of the people who look at what's happening on screen. Here's something that might be a bit tricky to understand: From the game's perspective, there is literally no difference between a glitch and normal behaviour. #OLLIOLLI 2 CHEAT ENGINE SOFTWARE#
